Winter Advisory Note
As we enter the winter months, we would like to remind families about the possibility that, in the event of inclement weather, our programs may utilize a Remote Learning Day. Every effort will be made to keep SEAL open. SEAL will post an emergency closing message on this page and utilize the One Call phone and email emergency system so that all families should receive a phone call and/or email. It is imperative that you keep the school informed of all phone and email contact changes. If there has been a change to your contact information, please call the front desk, email your child’s teacher or counselor, or send the update on your student’s SEE Note as soon as possible.
Each S.E.A.L. location follows a different local district when making decisions regarding inclement weather closure. Even if the indicated district cancels school, you will still receive a One Call notification from S.E.A.L.
Remote Learning Day:
In the event of a Remote Learning Day due to inclement weather, all students will attend remotely on that day (regardless of whether they were previously attending school in-person/hybrid or remotely). Teachers will provide instruction via Google Meet sessions. Teachers will be available during school hours to assist students and answer questions. Counselors will conduct sessions via the Doxy platform. Expressive Therapy staff will lead expressive therapy groups via Google Meet.
Remote Learning Day - Attendance:
All students must be logged into Google Meet at the start of the school day. Students that do not log into their Google Meet session with their teacher will be marked absent for the day. Students who are absent will be required to complete any assignments.
If your child will be absent during an Remote Learning Day, please notify the front desk before the start of the school day.
We will make every effort to prepare students with the necessary materials should a potential snow day be on the horizon. If you should need to make any special arrangements to obtain materials please let your student’s Teacher or Support Specialist know. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
